Day 1: Arrival

Your safari adventure begins with a warm welcome and a briefing by your professional driver-guide at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), your Arusha hotel, or another agreed location. You'll receive an overview of the day’s itinerary, safety tips, and what to expect during your first day on safari.

Depart for Tarangire National Park, a scenic 2–3-hour drive through the beautiful Tanzanian countryside. Upon entering the park, begin your game drive across landscapes famous for towering baobab trees, sweeping savannahs, and the life-giving Tarangire River, which attracts large concentrations of wildlife.

Tarangire is best known for its massive elephant herds, but you’ll also have the chance to see lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and over 500 species of birds. A picnic lunch in the park lets you dine in the heart of the wilderness.

Continue your game drive, capturing incredible wildlife moments and scenic views. Later, you’ll head to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater

After an early breakfast in Karatu, you will begin your journey toward the stunning Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying breathtaking views of the highlands as you approach this remarkable natural wonder.

Upon arrival, you will descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a professionally guided game drive across its expansive floor. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the most unique wildlife habitats in the world, like lions, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, and, with some luck, the rare black rhino.

A picnic lunch will be served at a designated site within the crater, allowing you to enjoy your meal while surrounded by this exceptional environment.

After a fulfilling day of game viewing, you will ascend from the crater and proceed with a scenic drive toward the Central Serengeti. Upon arrival, you will check in at your camp or lodge, where you can relax, enjoy dinner, and settle in for an overnight stay in the heart of the Serengeti.

Day 3: Northern Serengeti National Park

Spend an unforgettable day exploring the Northern Serengeti, one of Tanzania’s most spectacular and remote safari regions. Known for its dramatic landscapes and abundant wildlife, this area is especially famous for the Mara River crossings during the Great Migration (typically from July to October), where thousands of wildebeest and zebras’ brave crocodile-infested waters.

Your day begins early with a sunrise game drive, when wildlife is most active. Track predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards as they hunt across the open plains, and observe elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and diverse birdlife in their natural habitat.

Stop for a picnic lunch at a scenic spot in the bush, then continue your afternoon game drive along the riverbanks and rolling hills, capturing breathtaking moments and rare wildlife sightings.

As the sun sets over the savannah, return to your lodge or camp, reflecting on a day filled with thrilling encounters and the raw beauty of the wild.

Day 4: Central Serengeti National Park

After breakfast at your tented camp, you will set out for a morning game drive in the Northern Serengeti, specifically within the Kogatende area one of the most exclusive and wildlife-rich regions of the park. This area is particularly renowned for its role in the Great Migration, where vast herds of wildebeest and zebras gather near the Mara River, often accompanied by dramatic predator activity. The relatively low number of vehicles in this region enhances the sense of exclusivity, allowing for a more intimate and uninterrupted safari experience.

Your experienced guide will expertly track animal movements and provide insightful interpretation, enriching your understanding of the ecosystem.

Thereafter, you will begin your scenic journey towards the Central Serengeti, with continued game viewing en route. A picnic lunch will be served at a carefully selected location within the park, allowing you to relax and enjoy your meal amidst the surrounding wilderness.

Day 5: Serengeti to Arusha

Begin your day with an early morning game drive en route as you commence your journey back to Arusha. This is one of the most rewarding times for wildlife viewing, as the cooler hours of the morning often bring increased animal activity. You may have the opportunity to witness predators on the move, grazing herbivores across the plains, and the Serengeti awakening under the soft glow of the rising sun.

As you continue your drive, the journey itself becomes an extension of your safari, offering continuous sightings and scenic landscapes along the way. Your professional guide will make strategic stops to enhance your experience, providing insights into the wildlife and ecosystems encountered.

This final game drive offers a fitting and memorable conclusion to your safari, allowing you to fully appreciate the beauty and diversity of Tanzania’s wilderness before proceeding with your return to Arusha.
