Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Arrival & guided game drive at Tarangire National Park
Your adventure begins at Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), the gateway to Tanzania’s northern safari circuit. Upon arrival, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional driver-guide together with a representative from Jensen Glen Safaris, who will greet you and assist with your luggage.
You will then be escorted to your private 4x4 safari vehicle, where a brief safari orientation will be provided before commencing your journey. You will proceed directly to Tarangire National Park, a destination celebrated for its striking landscapes, ancient baobab trees, and impressive elephant populations.
Enjoy an exciting game drive through the park, offering excellent opportunities to observe wildlife such as lions, giraffes, zebras, and a wide variety of bird species in their natural habitat. In the late afternoon, you will continue your journey towards the picturesque town of Karatu, located on the foothills of the Ngorongoro Highlands for your overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast in Karatu, you will embark on a scenic drive through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, enjoying spectacular views along the way as the landscape gradually opens into the vast plains of the Serengeti. Upon arrival in the Central Serengeti, the terrain transforms into an expansive wildlife-rich ecosystem, offering an immediate sense of wilderness and adventure.
This region is renowned for its exceptional year-round concentration of wildlife, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, and large herds of wildebeest and zebras. You will enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge, with opportunities for remarkable sightings as you proceed through the park.
In the evening, you will arrive at your tented camp in the heart of the Serengeti, where you can relax and unwind, surrounded by one of Africa’s most iconic and pristine wildlife sanctuaries.
Day 3: Central Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the legendary Serengeti National Park, one of Africa’s premier wildlife destinations. With its vast, open plains and incredible biodiversity, the Serengeti offers unparalleled game viewing opportunities.
Set out early for a full-day game drive, tracking wildlife such as lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, cheetahs, and depending on the season the awe-inspiring Great Migration. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the wild and continue your exploration into the afternoon, capturing unforgettable moments in this untamed paradise before returning to your lodge as the sun sets over the savannah.
Day 4: Serengeti - Ngorongoro to Arusha
After an early breakfast, depart Serengeti National Park with a final game drive en route, soaking in the last glimpses of its breathtaking wildlife and landscapes. Continue to the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best places in Africa to spot the Big Five in a single game drive.
Descend into the crater floor for a half-day game drive surrounded by dramatic scenery and dense wildlife populations, including rhinos, lions, elephants, and hippos.
In the afternoon, begin your return journey to Arusha/Airport, reflecting on an unforgettable safari through Tanzania’s most iconic destinations, this marks the end of unforgettable tour with us.
