Itinerary
Expand allDay 1: Nyungwe National Park and Canopy Tour
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, our dedicated team of Jansen Glen Safaris will be at the Kigali International Airport for the meet and assist clear with customs. Our guide/driver will be already at your hotel. You'll have your breakfast at leisure before you get on a relaxed drive to the Northern province.
You will then embark on a morning journey from Kigali to the lush Nyungwe National Park, renowned for its biodiversity and captivating landscapes. Upon arrival, you'll be immersed in the natural beauty of the park as you prepare for an exhilarating canopy walk. You'll traverse the elevated walkways suspended among the treetops, offering panoramic views of the forest canopy and glimpses of wildlife below. After the canopy walk, you'll settle into your accommodation within the park, surrounded by the sights and sounds of the wilderness.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Tea Experience
You'll wake up early for an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience in Nyungwe National Park. Accompanied by experienced guides, you will venture into the forest in search of these remarkable primates, observing their behavior in their natural habitat.
After the trek, you'll indulge in a leisurely tea experience at a nearby plantation, where you'll learn about the process of tea production and enjoy a tasting session. In the afternoon, you'll bid farewell to Nyungwe National Park and transfer to the tranquil shores of Lake Kivu, where you'll unwind and relax at your lakeside accommodation.
Day 3: Lake Kivu and Island Viewing
You'll embark on a morning boating excursion on the pristine waters of Lake Kivu, soaking in the scenic beauty and tranquility of the surroundings. You'll cruise along the shores, admiring the rugged coastline and lush vegetation.
You'll make a stop at one of the picturesque islands dotting the lake, where you can explore, relax on the beach, or enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters. After island viewing, you will bid farewell to Lake Kivu and embark on the journey back to Kigali, reminiscing about the unforgettable experiences of your Rwandan adventure.
